Prince Harry would reportedly be “guilt ridden” if he never saw his dad again, so he’s reportedly making moves to reconcile with King Charles.

According to Page Six, senior staff for Harry and Meghan Markle met with Charles’s top PR aide in London on Sunday, a secret meeting described by reports as a “peace summit.” The 76-year-old is still going through cancer treatment, which has reportedly spurred Harry and Meghan to make amends.

“The ball is in Harry’s court. He is the one who has to apologize and beg for forgiveness, and not the other way around,” author and friend of the British Royal Family, Hugo Vickers, told Page Six.

Harry has not seen his father since February 2024, after he flew to London for a 30-minute meeting with the King shortly after his cancer diagnosis was announced.

In May, the estranged royal told the BBC he “would love a reconciliation” with his family, whom he claims “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.” He spoke with the outlet after losing a legal challenge over the level of security he, his wife, and children are entitled to while in the UK.

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” Harry said. He added that while “there have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,” he had “forgiven” them.

“There’s no point continuing to fight anymore, life is precious,” said Harry.

The Daily Mail was the first to obtain photos of Meredith Maines, Harry’s chief communications officer, meeting with Tobyn Andreae, Charles’ communications secretary, at the Royal Over-seas League, a private club near Buckingham Palace.

“There’s a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,” a royal source told the newspaper about the meeting.
