A Malaysian woman recently posted a TikTok video of her disabled husband painstakingly attempting to move a white motorcycle that was blocking a tactile walkway

In the 27-second clip, the woman's husband was seen attempting to move the motorcycle while still holding his white cane in his arms.The incident happened while the visually impaired man was walking from an MRT station towards his wife's car.After several attempts, he was able to move the motorbike from the path and continued his journey towards his wife's car."Let's provide a tactile pathway that's safe and free from obstacles for the safety of the blind people who use them," the wife wrote in the TikTok video.A tactile walkway is a type of pavement that uses raised lines, domes, or other textures to communicate safety information to visually impaired or disabled people (OKU).

The video succeeded in raising awareness among netizens who discovered the importance of tactile pathways for the OKU community

Some users commented that most people still do not know the usage of tactile pathways."Oh God, after 20 years of living, I finally understand why the pathways are shaped differently. Turns out, they are for the OKU," wrote one user.

Another user apologised to the woman and said that they had also parked their motorcycle on the pathway in the past.

Meanwhile, one user thanked the woman for giving them a new idea on how to help the OKU in the future."If God wills it, I will remove whatever obstacles on the tactile walkways if I see them," they wrote.

At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 1.9 million views and 162,000 likes.
