Deaths are always difficult.
But we imagine they hit harder for young individuals whose lives are abruptly cut short.
Even more so for those who have just embarked on a new phase in life.
Unfortunately, dealing with this triple whammy is now a burden faced by the family of a victim of a tragic traffic accident.
Earlier this week, a fatal traffic accident on the Tampines Expressway (TPE) towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) resulted in the death of Ms Yasmin Abdullah. Her death certificate indicated that she died from various injuries.
Ms Abdullah was 26 years old and worked at a dental clinic as a dental assistant.
The accident on the TPE involved two motorbikes and a minibus. Ms Abdullah was a pillion rider on one of the motorcycles caught up in the accident.
The rider of the motorbike that Ms Abdullah was on, Mr Muhammad Zahid Abdul Gaffar, survived with serious injuries. Mr Gaffar and Ms Yasmin were married.
According to a Facebook post by his sister, Mr Gaffar is currently in “a stable condition in the hospital”. He had gone through multiple operations for his injuries.
