PETALING JAYA: Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently shaping the Malaysian economy and youths must be bold and able to utilise all resources to thrive, said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Dr Wee said Malaysia is now living in an era shaped by AI and this demands not just tech-savviness, but vision, responsibility and Malaysian values.

“With AI expected to contribute over US$100bil to our economy by 2030, the time to lead is now.

“I encourage the younger generation to not just be technologically capable, but also entrepreneurially bold, financially grounded and mentally resilient to thrive in the digital economy.

“The youths are not the leaders of tomorrow, they are the builders of today,” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Friday (July 18).

The Ayer Hitam MP said he had a valuable session with students at the Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR-UMT) Youth Economic Forum discussing how AI will shape Malaysia’s economy in the future.

Dr Wee said youths must utilise the tools available, create solutions to face the challenges before them, and always take care of their well-being to succeed in life.

“I believe the future of Malaysia is in good hands with youngsters who are able to stay focused, make good decisions and lead with clarity and purpose,” Dr Wee added.
