ZICO Trust appoints former deputy IGP Mazlan Lazim as chairman
KUALA LUMPUR: ZICO Trust (M) Bhd has appointed former deputy inspector-general of police Tan Sri Dr Mazlan Lazim as chairman, effective Aug 14, 2026.
In a statement, the trust company said Mazlan brings more than four decades of public service experience, alongside corporate board experience spanning publicly listed and government-linked companies.
Mazlan’s career with the Royal Malaysia Police culminated in his appointment as deputy inspector-general of police in June 2021.
During his tenure, he held several senior positions, including Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan police chief and director of Bukit Aman’s Logistics and Technology Department.
He also served as director-general of the Witness Protection Department under the Prime Minister’s Department, overseeing the management of national witness protection programmes.
Following his retirement from the police force, Mazlan moved into the corporate sector and currently serves as independent non-executive chairman of Computer Forms (M) Bhd
and chairman of PBLT Sdn Bhd, which is wholly owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated.
He is also deputy chairman of Rapid Synergy Bhd

ZICO Trust managing director Jeevan M. Sundaram said Mazlan’s experience in leading and overseeing complex institutions would bring an important perspective to the company as it strengthens its governance and institutional foundations.
“Mazlan has spent much of his career leading and overseeing complex institutions where accountability, sound judgement and responsible stewardship are fundamental,” he said.
Mazlan said he looked forward to working with the board and management to strengthen ZICO Trust’s institutional foundations and support its sustainable long-term development.
“Good stewardship requires discipline, accountability and a clear commitment to the interests of those we serve,” he said.
