Zach Bryan Shares Update After Missing 2024 CMA Awards Amid Brianna LaPaglia Split
Looks like Zach Bryan ditched the red carpet in Nashville for some pink skies.
The “Something In the Orange” singer shared an update on his whereabouts Nov. 20, the same day he was invited to attend the 2024 CMA Awards, where he was nominated for Musical Event of the Year category for his “I Remember Everything” duet with Kacey Musgraves.
In a photo shared to his Instagram Story, Zach's dog Jack Daniels sat by the water at a rocky beach, looking off into the distance as the 28-year-old held onto his leash. In the background, a gorgeous yellow sunset painted the horizon.
Meanwhile at the ceremony, Zach and Kacey didn't end up winning Musical Event of the Year, where they faced off against Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan’s “Cowboys Cry Too,” and Ella Langley and Riley Green’s “You Look Like You Love Me,” the latter duo of whom took home the trophy in the category. Additionally, Morgan Wallen rounded out the category with two nominations, first with Post Malone on “I Had Some Help,” and then for his and Eric Church’scollaboration “Man Made a Bar.”
The “East Side of Sorrow” singer's decision to skip the night of country music stars comes one month after he announced his split from Barstool Sports personality Brianna LaPaglia—also known as Brianna Chickenfry—in October after one year of dating.
“Brianna and me have broken up with eachother [sic] and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” he wrote in an Instagram Story post at the time. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.”
“Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this,” he added, “and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
But less than an hour later, Brianna described feeling “blindsided” by Zach’s announcement.
“Gonna hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately,” she wrote in her own Instagram story. “When I’m ready I’ll be back and ready to talk.”
And soon her crew rallied around her as her BFFs podcast cohosts Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards took aim at Zach with their diss track “Smallest Man."
And while Zach didn't end up celebrating country music’s biggest night, plenty of stars did make an appearance. Keep reading to see all the stars on the red carpet.
