Zoë Kravitz’s split from Channing Tatum in October 2024 took many fans by surprise because they seemed like a united front during their three-year relationship.

Still, there were whispers in the background that there was noticeable chemistry between Kravitz and her Caught Stealing co-star, Austin Butler. A kissing scene that was caught by paparazzi while the duo was filming in New York City last fall sent the internet in a frenzy. (You can see the photo here.) Then, just weeks later, Kravitz and Tatum split. 

A source told Peopleat the time, “They haven’t been on the same page and grew apart.”

At the same time, there were rumors that Butler’s romance with Kaia Gerber was falling apart, too. But their relationship hung on until the end of 2024, and their breakup was announced by TMZ in January 2025.

Now, all eyes are back on Butler and Kravitz at the Paris premiere of Caught Stealing on Aug. 21. It was hard to ignore the electricity seen between the duo as they stood on the red carpet. (See the images here.) They spent a few intimate moments talking to each other in front of the cameras as Kravitz gave Butler an easygoing smile throughout their interactions.

The sweet photos come on the heels of a Page Six eyewitness seeing them at an immersive theatrical production together in late July. Even with all the buzz, there’s been no confirmation that Kravitz and Butler are anything more than just close friends. 

“With Austin, it’s an opportunity to have fun, keep her mind off things right now,” a Page Six insider said in April. “I’m sure she’s not the happiest with what happened [with Tatum]; it’s a good way for her to have fun and hang out. Who wouldn’t be interested in Zoe?”

“She is gaining the clout that can definitely help someone’s career. He’s [Butler] the ‘it’ guy in Hollywood, she’s the ‘it’ girl. I’m sure he’s not opposed to the attention,” they added.

So, for now, Kravitz and Butler are strictly friends, and nothing more.
