(Bloomberg) – Singapore’s government on Wednesday said it rejects attempts by foreign embassies in the city-state to “incite domestic reactions on international issues involving third countries.”

The comment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs comes after the US embassy in Singapore posted about China’s conduct in the South China Sea on social media platform X, drawing a response from the Chinese mission.

“Complex issues are best resolved through appropriate channels for effective diplomacy,” MFA said in a statement.
