Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) struggles to resist Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) so much in Coronation Street, she ends up kissing him – right in front of her young son, Harry.

Much to Sarah’s annoyance, Damon and Adam (Sam Robertson) start spending more time together in upcoming episodes as she finds out that Damon has invited her husband to a county game.

Damon then pops by the flat looking for Adam but when Sarah reveals that he’s out, he produces a bottle of wine and suggests that he keeps her company instead.

As they chat, Sarah admits that although she loves Adam, she can’t stop thinking about Damon, which prompts him to lean in for a kiss.

But to their horror, they hear the door go and spring apart!

At the door is Gail (Helen Worth), explaining that Harry has a temperature and needed to be returned home.

With Gail gone, Damon goes to follow shortly after, but Sarah can’t handle herself and ends up kissing him passionately.

However, neither are aware that Harry is standing in the corridor!

Towards the end of the week, Sarah and Adam are playing a game with Harry, but the confused young boy makes a comment about how he doesn’t want a new Dad.

Sarah tries to convince Adam that Harry’s remark was meaningless before admitting to Harry that she did kiss Damon, but would be grateful if he would keep her secret.

But what follows next?

Harry then declares to Adam that Sarah’s a liar and he hates her, leaving Sarah with no choice but to tell the truth – she slept with Damon.

Discussing the aftermath of this moment, Tina O'Brien explained: 'She's [Sarah] just basically about to throw grenade into the marriage, so I think 10 out of 10, she's off the scale scared. She knows it's coming, she knows she's got to sit down and she knows she's got to tell him but it’s that anticipation and the fact she knows he hasn't got a clue as well.

'The guilt, the feeling of disgust at herself and also the realization that she could potentially have ruined everything are just overwhelming because she does still really want to be with Adam.'
