'We know this industry isn't easy': 40-year-old Toa Payoh furniture store to close, owners discourage children from taking over
Asia One·2024-09-17 17:00
Earlier in May, the elderly couple behind TPY 177 Furniture shared that they were considering permanently shuttering their 40-year-old furniture store.
And now, it's official — the business will be closing for good, though no exact date has been revealed.
The main reason is that the owners, Lin Hechang (transliteration), 77, and his wife Zhuang Miaozhu (transliteration), 73, have decided to retire, they told Lianhe Zaobao in an interview.

It might be time to wrap up their furniture business since they sell furniture for 40 years in TP Hope the old couple will enjoy their golden years to the fullest thereafter the retirement.
