SERI ISKANDAR: A male student from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) was killed and three others injured after the car they were in skidded off the road on Jalan Teknologi 1 last night.

The 19-year-old victim from Sabah was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 8pm.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said firemen responded to the incident at 8.19pm.

"Upon arrival, we found a Perodua Bezza that had skidded off the road shoulder, with no victims trapped inside," he said today.

The crash involved four 19-year-old victims. 

Medical officers confirmed one dead at the scene, while the other three sustained minor injuries. 

The deceased was handed over to the police for further action, and the injured were taken to Changkat Melintang Hospital. 

The operation ended at 8.49pm.

Earlier, a viral video showed the Perodua Bezza hitting a road divider before spinning several times and crossing into the opposite lane. It also captured one of the victims being thrown from the vehicle.
