[UPDATED] PJ hit by major power outage

KUALA LUMPUR: A major power outage struck several parts of Petaling Jaya, including Bandar Utama and surrounding areas, today.
Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) confirmed the blackout in a statement on its social media platforms. TNB stated that its technical teams were on-site, carrying out repair work to restore the supply.
The utility company, in a subsequent reply to social media users, said restoration works would take two to four hours, depending on the situation.
Checks on social media found that several areas in the district have also been affected by the outage.

A video had gone viral showing the One Utama Shopping Centre and First Avenue plunging into complete darkness.
A netizen, Syabilaa Murshid said that her office building in Ara Damansara was also affected.
Another netizen, Amran Ali, said a similar situation was reported in his area in Kota Damansara.
"Kota Damansara Seksyen 11 affected. Lights blinking, monitors blinking, and finally the computer rebooted by itself," he said.
