Montblanc’s stylised six-point snow cap with rounded edges is synonymous with luxury writing instruments. But the German marque has also extended its repertoire to include watches, cuff links, jewellery, travel bags and small leather goods. On December 5, 2019, Montblanc held a small Christmas party for a special group of Prestige readers at its Raffles City boutique. Guests were enthralled with the Montblanc Writers Edition collection, which honours The Jungle Book author Rudyard Kipling. Inspired by the cover of the book’s first US edition, the pen’s cap is engraved with Kipling’s handwritten initials R.K. That’s not all. The beginning and end of the poem If is also engraved on the cap top and cone ring. Other items that caught the guests’ eyes that evening include the sleek red pens designed by Marc Newson as well as the Montblanc Patron of Art collections, which is a nod to writers Homer as well as Hadrian. At the end of the evening, guests went home with personalised baubles, just in time for the festive season.
