Gamer or not, we've all seen it before. The Game Boy, from its launch way back in 1989 until its discontinuation in 2008, has been entralling and defining the modern era of handheld gaming with millions of units sold worldwide. With several design iterations in its portfolio, its extensive library — with a library of games in the thousands, including the popular Pokemon and Super Mario series, makes the Game Boy arguably the most influential gaming device in the world.

Gamers have been left high and dry for years, with no official statement by Nintendo on rebooting or redesigning the original Game Boy. Nonetheless, one can always dream — so much so that industrial designer YJ Yoon took things into his own accord to design his own Game Boy of the 21st century.
