Last year, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) told Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) that she liked him and since then, their romance has blossomed in Emmerdale.

The two of them have had their challenges, most recently Amy was confused about the mixed messages she was getting from Matty, but after Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) helped, Matty eventually talked to Amy about his feelings.

Coming up, Amy faces another challenge, as Matty starts to wonder whether she’ll support him as his transition surgery approaches.

Matty tells Moira (Natalie J Robb) he has a consultation and assessment to get on the waiting list for lower surgery. Moira is super supportive during the consultation but is left concerned that Matty’s going through with the surgery for Amy’s sake rather than for himself.

Matty explains the difference the surgery would make to his life and that Amy is unaware of the consultation.

Moira urges him to talk to his girlfriend but the next day, Amy is worried that Matty hasn’t returned any of her calls.

When Matty makes his excuses and leaves their lunch date early she questions Moira. Not wanting to break her son’s confidence, Moira urges Amy to speak to Matty.
