SINGAPORE — Singaporeans can look forward to five National Day Parade (NDP) 2022 celebrations in the heartlands across the island.

To be held on the weekend of 6 to 7 August, the specific locations will be unveiled at a later date.

During the celebrations, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Home Team will present a static display of their assets while the Red Lions will conduct freefall jumps over two heartland sites.

On National Day, residents will also be treated to a simultaneous fireworks display in the heartlands, to be timed with the main fireworks display near The Float @ Marina Bay, where the main parade will be held. They can also catch a view of the State Flag and fighter jets flying over the residential areas.

At the main parade, attendees can watch a combined air, land and sea Total Defence Display by the SAF and the Home Team. As in past NDPs, the Red Lions, parade and ceremony, the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s State Flag Flypast and Salute to the Nation, and various performances will also be part of the main programme.

For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NDP will have ticketed seats for members of the public, following two scaled-down NDPs. With a seating capacity of up to 26,000 at The Float @ Marina Bay, most of the seats are expected to be filled, according to organisers.
